2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 5: Giallo Week Dario Argento making a pitch to '80s teens nourished on slasher fare like Halloween/Friday the 13th by packing all of his greatest hits (creepy doin's at a strict girls' school, creepy dungeons underneath staid European manors, unseen stabby killers in the night) into one wild remix. There's a scene about 20 minutes in where Jennifer Connelly sleepwalks out of her room, stumbles across a classmate being murdered, falls from the roof of the school into some bushes, wanders into the city streets, gets hit by a passing car, tumbles down a wooded hillside, and only then wakes up. It's cartoonish in a way that I didn't know Argento could pull off, and to being honest I like it better than when he plays things straight.
