2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 11: Spaghetti Western Week If I hadn't been aware that this film was directed by the same director as Django (1966), I wouldn't have even guessed. Corbucci forgoes the heavily stylized soundstage look of Django for a beautifully expansive and naturalistic outdoor winter setting that lends a real pop to the action scenes. I was not at all prepared for the ending of this movie and came away genuinely shocked at how Kinski's baddie isn't just an interesting and charismatic villain for the title character to best, but is developed over the course of the film as the only character with the moral flexibility to win under the depicted circumstances.
