2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 19: '80s Horror Week I liked this one a lot, especially how it keeps just enough of the narrative out of the audience's reach until the very end, when it all lands on the main character (and us) with a chilling thud. I do wonder to what extent the presence of an unassuming middle-aged schlub as the kidnapper was meant to be a shocking element in the film, if only because the alienated white male mass-murderer profile hadn't yet evolved into an all-too-real cliche.
