2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 24: CAT III Week Even for a so-called "serious" Jackie Chan movie, there's some pretty wild stuff going on that doesn't quite gel with obvious effort being made to give it a grittier action feel a la "Hard Boiled", etc. Whether that's Chan having a highly-choreographed kung-fu fight with a suspect in the middle of a crowded police station, or seesawing through the rusting innards of a derelict cargo ship, or blowing up an entire city block in Kowloon, there's a hyperbolicness to the action that feels both very '90s but also innately silly in a way that seems part and parcel of the Jackie Chan brand.
