Hooptober Night Six: The thing that struck me the most about this movie in the end was how the revelation of the true plot actually makes more sense than the initial setup. The ludicrousness of the plan notwithstanding, it just seems more likely that the mistress would be in cahoots with the husband to murder the wife instead of the other way around. By making the bigger ask of the audience at the beginning of the story, the movie is setting us up to have the rug pulled out from under us when the truth is revealed.
