圣女贞德蒙难记 - 评论
1st Annual Criterion Challenge Week 32: Silent Films I was kind of indifferent to Dreyer's "Vampyr" when I watched that a year or two ago, but I was absolutely blown away by this one. Maria Falconetti's performance is completely magnetic, with Dreyer's long and frequent close-ups drawing us in as witnesses to her martyrdom at the hands of the Church. I finally got around to this one after hearing about how it influenced David Lowry's "The Green Knight," and one of these days I'd like to do a double feature of both so I can compare the visuals side-by-side.
