HOOPTOBER OCHO NIGHTS TWENTY & TWENTY ONE + 2021 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 41: ITALIAN HORROR WEEK Definitely leans more heavily towards the murder-mystery side of giallo than the horrific side, and I feel like the U.S. title maybe sets some incorrect expectations about how supernatural this movie really gets. Whereas the Italian title SETTE NOTE IN NERO (literally SEVEN NOTES IN BLACK) feels more right for how this movie actually unfolds. As it is the mystery feels a little dull and safe, like something that would play equally well as a TV-movie of its era, almost too much of a slow burn to really feel altogether satisfying by the end.
