1st Annual Criterion Challenge Week 45: Made in the Soviet Union This is one that I definitely need to rewatch sometime soon. The painterly compositions and camera movements were so lovely and dreamlike that I will admit to nodding off a few times during the movie, which definitely made this more of a series of beautiful and stirring images than anything I could speak intelligently upon as a work of cinema. In fact, I'd say that this is probably a prime candidate for revisiting if I participate in next year's challenge after Ben releases the rules next week.
