By the time he actually creates the monster, he's already got blood on his hands and is perfectly ready to do it again. Lee's portrayal of the creature is perhaps not quite as sympathetic as Karloff's, but he gives the role an impressive physicality, along with a real sense of anger and confusion about the character's situation.
