I like both series for different reasons, but I see people often treat Bayonetta like female DMC when it really feels more like it's on its own distinct design path for character action games to me. There's some crossover appeal in general (i.e. action games where you fight enemies stylishly for score), but the two series diverge from each other fairly quickly during gameplay.
