This was a science fiction film about people on a dying earth who have decided the human species has to leave for space colonies, but not everyone is fit to go. They are able to create biological entities artificially in human form capable of reason. The couple at the center of the story live in a once fertile wasteland and most of the story is about the tension between them as the husband prepares to go off to space. That's the setup, anyway. It didn't completely work in capturing one's interest, by the time the twist came in the last reel I didn't really care about going back and sorting all the ways the story elements work, or why the story was called 'Foe.' The stars are just for the actors, not the writing or directing.
