This was kind of all over the place with no coherent message and too much padding in the first two thirds. There were apparently some elaborate practical effects at the end during the big werewolf transformation but aside from that nothing terrifically spectacular or scary. The revelation of the rural commune residents' true identities was not nearly as surprising as I think the filmmakers probably intended. There were the usual misogynistic moments in movies from this era but I didn't spot much overt racism. Overall, mostly a miss, in my opinion.
