This was a pretty dull monster movie, all in all, and it didn't really deliver a satisfying kill for the most evil characters shown. It was pretty clear that the thing was originally shot to be scary but they tried changing it to a funny one in midcourse, so nothing really gels. Then they injected a painfully unconvincing romance subplot. I did like the shots of the title monster, which looked like some nice footage of actual animals (though not the forty footer they kept talking about) and their creepy looking eyes. But that's not enough to sustain a long slog of a film.
