There's a frame story about some hapless tourists touring some tombs and five tales of cruelty and misery. I feel they didn't skimp on talent, sets, or pacing, but maybe did not spring for the most realistic simulated gore. The stories weren't the most exciting fare, but entertaining enough as we the audience get to witness folly after folly leading to a downfall (sort of). Not sure this is the kind of thing a person might want to watch over and over, but one time through isn't what I would call a wasted ninety minutes.
