Rewatching this after many many years is like seeing it with fresh eyes. The casting of the main talent is the great strength of this 1950s fantasy about the 1920s, hiding how some of the story just doesn't make sense. The enduring appeal of the music is of course the other great asset. It just makes me happy to see the gags and the acrobatic dnace numbers now as I turn to it for a bit of comfort viewing.
