I honestly don't know if I liked this a 1.5 or if I liked this a 4, so I'm going down the middle and, since I can't give it a 2.75, I'm rounding up. Williams' direction elevates a throwback-of-a-script that suffers from your standard Cody-faire. Sprouse does a pretty good amalgam of classic Depp with some light D'Onofrio-a-la-Men in Black. Newton does a pretty good amalgam of classic Ryder with some light Bonham Carter. Yeah, a 3 feels right.
