a review of 平安夜，杀人夜

I'd only seen the sequels when my good friend Jesse and I went through them a couple years ago, and having understood that the flashbacks making up much of Part II were pulled directly from the first movie, this has been on my to-watch list just so that I could say that I've seen them all. I was not prepared for how great this is! The way it builds Billy's traumatic experiences around Santa to the tipping point where he becomes Santa is so well done. The dourness is offset with some incredible tunes, many of which are now in my holiday playlist (said with sincerity!). Enjoying this movie with my good friend was a delight, and I couldn't have put it better myself.
