a review of

I've been thinking about Sinners a lot over the past couple days, and I was 4 stars on it at first, but I landed on 4.5 for a few reasons:

1. It's a 138 minute movie, but it's so well-paced and there's always something going on that it honestly felt like a tighter 90-100 minutes; at no point did I even think to look at my watch or wonder when it was going to end.
2. The two big music set pieces (the blues calling the spirits and the jig). Those both could've gone on for a few more minutes each and I would've been so pleased that they did. As it is, I feel like I've been shorted!
3. The ending (not the post-credits scene, which is fine), and I won't say more about that. Worth seeing!
