a review of 碟中谍8

The entity and Gabriel remain the stupidest weapon and villain combo. I get that this is a direct sequel (or continuation) of Dead Reckoning, but there was zero reason to SPECTRE the franchise. There was also zero reason to reference the same six things at least three times each as if the audience wouldn't remember any of it. You want to do a clip show through Ethan's greatest moments for all the president's men? Okay, I guess, but don't load up the first 40 minutes with it first, then do it again with them in the room, then once more when a reference is made, then again when a "new character" is introduced, then again when...you get the point. Disrespectful waste of everyone's time. Also totally flubbed what could've been a clean finale or a nice passing of the torch. The part with the biplanes was cool, though!
