斯科塞斯先生 - 评论

Pretty good five-part docu-series about Marty. I was drawn in by how the first part plays and ends, so I watched all five parts in one evening; this was, in my opinion, a mistake. If you have any interest in watching it, I encourage you to split it up, maybe do one a night, as there's some overlap in each subsequent part that's unavoidable in the way that this is presented, and bingeing does it no favors. As it is, it does a good job covering his life from childhood, across five marriages, touching on multiple professional collaborators, and the crests and nadirs throughout his career. (I've read a few reviews here that are up in arms about Hugo erasure, but I don't believe this is intended to be a doc covering his entire filmography, it just uses much of his filmography to touch on the other facets of his life and career. If that means leaving out Hugo from this narrative, then I think that's really all there was to it and was not intended as a snub. And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong; it's happened before and will happen again. C'est la vie.)
