I think this is my third time watching this movie, but it's my first time in over a decade, and I have to say that this is the most I've ever felt it. It's a fun little romp until it isn't, and then it's a pretty big bummer - just like life! Sure, Antoine is kind of a slacker, but also a victim of his situation and the people that should be doing better by him; all I can do is feel for him, living his life for the moment when he can just be free and be treated as an adult, then meeting that moment so young - situation aside - and not knowing where to go or what to do once he's in it... I'm getting teary eyed all over again just thinking about it. He is me! We are all Antoine. (Also, I forgot that it's seasonally appropriate to watch at this time, there's Joyeux Noël sprinkled throughout.) Anyway, great movie! 1.25 stars for every 100 blows.
