Set in a fishing village off Italy's Dalmatian coast, under a brilliant, turquoise sky, Yves Montand plays Squarcio, a rogue fisherman who manages to feed his family (his wife played by the exquisite Alida Valli) by tossing bombs into the water to kill the maximum number of fish. When a new chief of police puts Squarcio's illegal and dangerous exploits under closer scrutiny, his livelihood is threatened. Montand's unforgettable, complex character is part working-class hero, part macho-cowboy, part 1950's sex symbol at sea.

Hitler: The Last Ten Days is a 1973 film depicting the days leading up to Adolf Hitler's suicide. It stars Alec Guinness and Simon Ward. The original music score was composed by Mischa Spoliansky.
Guinness portrays Hitler with gusto, whereas in real life, Hitler spent his last days drugged and brooding.
Hitler's birthday party is pictured as festive. In real life, Hitler had to be heavily sedated simply to make an appearance. Also, the movie does not show Albert Speer, Hermann Göring or Heinrich Himmler, who also showed up for the party.
Hitler spends time playing with his wooden model of Germania in the bunker, wishing Albert Speer were with him. The real bunker did not hold this wooden model, and Speer actually did visit him several times.
Hitler is shown being intimate with Eva Braun. In real life, he barely spent any time with her at all in the bunker.
Hitler is depicted as having shot himself almost on a whim, after Eva Braun takes poison to spite him. In reality, Hitler and Braun planned their suicides and had a formal "exit scene".

This gritty and powerful police thriller is a classic stand-alone independent film. With good performances from Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs, Bad Lieutenant) and John Lydon (former Sex Pistols frontman), Corrupt really is a one-off. As the film progresses, Leo Smith (Lydon) and Lieutenant Fred O'Connor (Keitel) engage in a vicious and engrossing psychological battle of wills in a sadistic game where they are both dependent on each other. As for the Director, Faezna's direction seems as good as any of the excellent Italian films of the day, effortlessly moving from smooth exterior compositions to the angular perfection of the prison-like apartment. BAFTA award winning Ennio Morricone reinforces this precision with an excellent score full of mechanical percussion mixed with a whispy guitar lead which underscores the foreign presence of Lydon. Music plays a very important role in Corrupt, especially the strange country music track "Tchaikovsky's Destruction" which is played throughout the entire film to emphasise the changes occurring to the characters.

Un maledetto imbroglio also known as The Facts of Murder is a 1959 Italian crime film mystery directed by and starring Pietro Germi with Claudia Cardinale. The film is based on the novel Quer pasticciaccio brutto de via Merulana, by Carlo Emilio Gadda. The film was restored and re-released in 1999 both in Italy and the USA.
A disguised bandit steals valuable jewellery from Commendatore Anzaloni's apartment and flees, leaving Anzaloni unharmed. Inspector Ingravallo investigates and finds that the robbery is suspicious in that the robber was able to find valuables too quickly. A neighbour, Liliana Banducci, employs a servant girl, Assuntina. Her fiancé, Diomede, tries to escape when he sees police tailing Assuntina. But Diomede has an alibi. Liliana's cousin, Dr. Valdarena, pays her a visit, only to find her corpse on the floor. But before calling police, Valdarena removes an envelope addressed to him from the sideboard. Liliana's husband Remo was away from Rome at the time of the murder, but he is very surprised to hear that Liliana had changed her will only one week earlier.

Mr. Edmond is a middle-aged playboy, living by his wits on the Riviera. Among the women with whom Edmond dallies are three gorgeous ladies.

In the 1960s, Silvana, a beautiful girl from the countryside, decides to spend the night in Rome after missing the last bus home. Without a place to stay, she seeks refuge in an under-construction attic. There, she meets a young man, leading to a short-lived romance. He opens her eyes to the wonders of the economic boom shaping the capital in those years. Despite the chaos of buses, protests, and big stores, Silvana chooses to make Rome her home.

Tommaso, a young boy growing up in a big family in the country often spies on cousin Marta. Then she marries and moves away. The film then following the courses of both their lives. Tom grows up and goes into military service, Marta is separated from her husband.
