该片参加了2007年柏林电影节。柏林《世界》报发表了一篇彼得·赞德的文章，其中提到“《云雀农场》的出现正是时候——在亚美尼亚记者Hrant Dink被谋杀以后，在诺贝尔文学奖帕慕克受到威胁以后。该影片本能成为本次柏林电影节的亮点，但它却根本不在主要评奖项目中。”
很多人对这次电影节提出质疑，怀疑电影节主席Dieter Kosslick是否为了避免引起政治争议而使得Paolo Taviani和Vittorio Taviani导演的电影《云雀农场》（The Lark Farm）失去了获奖机会。

Whatever his reasons or intent, when the young man carrying a cello begins working at the old-folks home, he strikes up an acquaintance with the man known as "the Maestro" (Fernando Fernan Gomez), who is full of plans to produce a play based on a Caribbean love affair and adventure in his youth. As he listens to the old man's reminiscences of love, he thinks of his own girlfriend (both are played by Angela Molina).
