Back in April, an unreleased copy of Aphex Twin’s 1994 album Caustic Window suddenly hit the web, attached with a hefty price tag of $13,500.
This album unfortunately never saw the light of day until around 1999, when Mike Paradinas (aka µ-Ziq) granted a rare interview with the Aphex Twin fansite, joyrex.com. In the interview, Mike described the tracks in detail, and went on to explain that only 4 people at the time were known to have a vinyl test pressing of the album – Richard James, Chris Jeffs (aka Cylob), Grant Wilson-Claridge (co-founder of Rephlex Records) and Mike himself. Each person was sworn to never make copies of the music, and for 20 years, not a single track had ever been commercially released……(with the exception of two tracks that appeared on compilations).
Until now.
Fast forward to 2014, when a mysterious seller listed the album on the music website Discogs for sale at a high asking price. We Are The Music Makers, aka WATMM.com, which succeeded joyrex.com as the web’s premiere source for electronic music, discussed the possibility of this “holy grail” of electronic music releases finally seeing the light of day, albeit from unfortunately leaking online once a buyer had obtained it.

MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96 [音乐] 豆瓣
Aphex Twin 类型: Electronic
发布日期 2015年4月6日 出版发行: Warp Records
Aphex Twin's MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96, the Japanese bonus track for Syro, will be released for a worldwide audience, backed with a new version of Syro's XMAS_EVET10 [120] (thanaton3 mix) and an alternate take on MARCHROMT. Clocking in at 7 minutes, the opening track is a writhing electronic treasure that is totally hypnotic with lurking sub-bass and an airy beat hovering above the surface. The alternate version of XMAS is an equally entrancing piece that offers a fresh take on the Syro standout. In typical Aphex fashion, the release closes out with the kind of regurgitating synths and chasing beats that he executes at an unparalleled level.

The 'Syro' producer has made 21 modular synth recordings available on his SoundCloud, along with some unreleased tracks.
Apparently 12-years-old, the recordings, which were mostly made on a Buchia synth, were included in an interview between Aphex and blogger Dave Noyze on Noyzelab.
