浦野千賀子による青春バレーボール漫画の金字塔のTVアニメ化。その劇場版・第二弾。名門・富士見学園中学の女子バレーボール部で活躍する鮎原こずえと、その親友・早川みどり他の部員たち。ある日、富士見中が近隣の浜紀中学と合併することになり、同校の女子バレー部員で強豪「四天王」が乗り込んできた。こずえたちは、横暴な四天王に挑むが惜敗。だがこずえとみどりは知人の富士見大学女子バレー部の合宿に特別参加して己を磨き、共有の必殺技「木の葉落とし」に開眼した。四天王を破ったのち彼女たちと和解し、ともに頑張ろうとするこずえ。だが四天王のリーダー格・泉ユリだけは腕を痛めてバレーを引退。こずえたちを妬むユリは、女子中学バレーの東海地区大会で、相手校に母校チームの弱点まで教える裏工作まで始めていた。TV第7～14話辺りの総集編。中学時代のこずえたちが全国優勝を果たすまでを描く。「東宝チャンピオンまつり」内で上映。
