《郎朗：贝多芬第1、4钢琴协奏曲》这是郎朗首度灌录贝多芬作品，也是他与恩师艾森巴赫合作的第一张唱片，乐团是艾森巴赫担任艺术总监多年的巴黎管弦乐团。朗朗对贝多芬第一及第四钢琴协奏曲的精湛演绎，令本人也是贝多芬权威的艾森巴赫为之折服，“他（朗朗）是天生的贝多芬演绎者”，艾森巴赫称赞说。

郎朗与艾森巴赫的忘年交也是乐坛的一段佳话，当年正是艾森巴赫慧眼识英雄，点名邀请朗朗入替另一位著名的钢琴家安德烈·瓦茨在拉维尼亚音乐节上演出，而朗朗就此一炮打响，成为当今最炙手可热的古典音乐家之一。附赠的DVD收录了两个对当年情景的美好回忆。
