《忒修斯的船》由三个看似互无关联的独立故事组成。 　　第一段，一个盲人少女摄影师，在盲人状态时成功举办了个人影展而出名，却在移植角膜恢复视力后找不到摄影的灵感。 　　第二段，抵制动物实验的僧人，因为肝硬化而面临肝移植或者死亡的选择——而移植手术本身正是基于他所反对的动物实验。 　　第三段，原本只关心钱的青年，在自己做完肾脏移植手术后无意中知道了医院和社会上存在的肾脏交易，以及一些“偷肾”的行为。而他也因为这个意外的发现而开始了很多无关金钱的社会活动。 　　而在本片结尾处，第三个故事的主人公受邀参加了一个特殊的影片放映会——参加者都是接受过器官移植的病人，而且他们的器官来自同一个捐献者。于是我们看到了，前两个故事里接受角膜移植的女孩和肝脏移植的僧人也出现在这里。他们共同看的片子，是捐献者本人生前拍摄的一段岩洞探险视频，深邃的岩洞，却如浩瀚的宇宙般神秘壮丽……
