Two sisters reunite on the anniversary of the death of their father. Their uncle has remodelled their family home, in an attempt at a fresh start. But one sister’s sudden reappearance threatens to shatter this fragile idyll as she demands justice for the pain she carries.Amid the debris and the new extension, guilt, grief and greed battle it out in the family’s competing dreams of their future. In the run up to Christmas, three families are placed into cramped temporary accommodation.

A middle-aged man and his elderly mum, a young family with a baby on the way, a newly arrived woman from Sudan. Strangers. Forced together. No space is personal.

The audience is invited to step inside their reality and bear witness to some of the touching, humorous, and profoundly human instances of their combined existence. Played with the house lights up and audience members seated amongst the company, the heart-breaking production reveals the cast seeming to live rather than act. The result is an authentic and intimate story for our times that shows rather than tells, born out of the daily rituals of survival to expose the humanity behind housing insecurity.
