Wild Things Run Fast is Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell's 11th studio album and her first for Geffen Records. Released in 1982, it represents her departure from jazz to a more 1980s pop sound. This was her first album to work with bassist Larry Klein, whom she married in 1982. Klein would play bass on and co-produce her next four albums.

Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration is a live tribute album to Joni Mitchell by various artists, released by Decca Records on March 8, 2019. The album, recorded in Los Angeles on November 7, 2018 to commemorate Mitchell's 75th birthday, features artists performing cover versions of her songs.

Joni Mitchell is opening her vault for the first time with the Joni Mitchell Archives, a new series of box sets to be released over the course of the next few years. Each one will be a deep dive into a different era of her career with a wealth of unreleased material, and naturally, the first one starts at the very beginning.
The series kicks off on 10/30 with the release of Joni Mitchell Archives Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963 To 1967), a deluxe 5-CD set featuring nearly six hours of unreleased home, live, and radio recordings leading up to her 1968 debut album, including 29 original Mitchell compositions that have never been released with her vocals.

Dog Eat Dog is the 12th album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, released in 1985. It was her second album for Geffen Records. The album was a departure for Mitchell due to its synthetic sound (featuring production work by British synthesiser musician Thomas Dolby). Lyrically, the album dealt with prominent issues in mid 1980s society, such as televangelists, consumerism and famine in Ethiopia. One of Mitchell's more unusual songs, "Smokin' (Empty, Try Another)" was recorded by sampling the sound of the cigarette machine in the hall of the studio where Wild Things Run Fast was recorded. "Good Friends" was recorded as a duet with Michael McDonald; a video was produced for the song using film animation by Jim Blashfield. "Shiny Toys" and "Good Friends" were released as singles; "Shiny Toys" was also released in a 12" Extended Dance Single format, remix by François Kevorkian, and had a more complete lyric than the album version, featuring spoken voice by Thomas Dolby ( "I LOVE being out on the golf course!").

Night Ride Home is the fourteenth album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, released in 1991. It was the last of four albums she recorded for Geffen Records.

Songs of a Prairie Girl is the third (and last) in Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell's series of compilations. Mitchell writes in the liner notes to the CD that the compilation is her contribution to Saskatchewan's Centennial Celebration and that the songs of the album reference Saskatchewan. Although Mitchell was born in Alberta, when she was eleven years-old her family settled in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which Mitchell considers her hometown.
