简介：《女巫们》也叫《历代的巫术》，可以看作是一部有关宗教巫术的准记录片。1919 到1921间丹麦导演创作了这部瑞典与丹麦合拍的超越时代杰作，并在该片中扮演魔鬼一角。这部影片构思新奇、造型技巧高超、画面结构严谨，运用富于表现力的特写镜头和动作感强的蒙太奇均很恰当。但是由于宗教原因，这部电影当时被瑞典和其他欧洲国家列为禁片，直到1929年，经过严格删剪的版本才在美国出现。导演也因为当时Hollywood的纳贤口号而移居美国，但也并未得志，郁郁而终。这部作品的意义不仅在于题材的敏感和手法的前卫，在视觉成就方面，本片无疑更是电影史上的翘楚之一。
