Alicia Keys has officially announced her first album in two years, simply titled Keys. The double album will feature two sides containing different versions of the same songs. The “Original” side will consist of “laidback piano vibes,” produced entirely by Alicia, while the “Unlocked” side will feature “upbeat, drums, level up vibes,” produced by Alicia and Mike Will Made-It.

Girl on Fire is the fifth studio album by American recording artist Alicia Keys. The album, which was released on November 22, 2012, is Keys' first release with RCA Records following Sony Music Entertainment's decision to close J Records during a company reshuffle. Girl on Fire was conceived shortly after Keys' marriage to record producer and rapper Swizz Beatz as well as the birth of her first child, Egypt. It is an R&B album with a mixture of conventional genre songs and piano ballads, some of which touch on Keys' marriage and motherhood.
The album sold 159,000 copies in its first week in the United States and became Keys' fifth album to chart at number one on the Billboard 200. The lead single was the title track; it charted at 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the Top 10 in several countries worldwide. The second single, "Brand New Me", was only released to US urban adult contemporary radio stations. Upon its release, Girl on Fire received generally positive reviews from music critics. The album has since spawned two further singles: The second international single "New Day" and the third US urban adult contemporary single "Fire We Make" (featuring Maxwell). At 56th Grammy Awards the album won in the Best R&B Album category.

Alicia Augello Cook, known professionally as Alicia Keys, is an American singer-songwriter. A classically-trained pianist, Keys began composing songs by age 12 and was signed at 15 years old by Columbia Records.

It seems the secret to soundtrack success these days is to include as many large name collaborations as possible. We’ve already seen that strategy pay dividends with Kendrick Lamar for Divergent and Pharrell with the entire soundtrack for Despicable Me 2. Considering the killing those two films experienced at the box office, it only makes sense that the heads behind The Amazing Spider-Man 2 came knocking at their doors looking for another blockbuster hit. We think they’ve definitely got one on their hands with “It’s On Again.”
The single opens rather aggressively, as Kendrick rips through another impassioned verse, delivered with a fiery intensity we’ve grown accustomed to hearing through his last few releases. It is an Alicia Keys song after all though, and the blaring electric guitars are swiftly replaced with far mellower production shortly after Kendrick wraps up his portion of the track. There’s still a fair amount of urgency in Alicia’s vocals, but given that Pharrell is behind the boards, you can be assured this is a tune that’s just as easy to groove out to.
Check out the single above, which will be available on iTunes tomorrow, April 1st. The entire soundtrack is set for release on April 22nd, while the film will hit theaters on May 2nd.

Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlile have teamed up on a new song called “A Beautiful Noise,” which they premiered last night (October 29) during CBS’ Every Vote Counts: A Celebration of Democracy special.
Keys and Carlile wrote “A Beautiful Noise” with a team of other women songwriters, including Ruby Amanfu, Brandy Clark, Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey, Hailey Whitters, and Linda Perry.
“The evolution of ‘A Beautiful Noise’ represents a group of incredible women from all different walks of life coming together with a universal message of hope and empowerment. It is an important reminder that we all have a voice and that our voices count,” Carlile said in a statement about the track.
Carlile’s most recent album was 2018’s By the Way, I Forgive You. Keys, who co-hosted the Every Vote Counts special with actors Kerry Washington and America Ferrera, released her seventh album ALICIA in September.
