本片以一种目击者的姿态，透过一连串对人物的特写，带领观者进入这群农人们的生活，理解他们的价值观与故事。这群老农夫的生活与土地紧紧相依，这片土地不但是他们的全部，更是他们留给后代子孙的珍贵遗产，但受到全球化的衝击，农村里年轻人或走或留，德帕东透过诗意无边的纪录，质疑这群大地子民未来的模样……
