The wait is finally over! On November 26th Kylie releases 'X', her first new studio album in four years. 'X' is preceded by the new single '2 Hearts' on November 12 (available digitally November 5). The DVD will feature a track by track interview with Kylie, the trailer for White Diamond (which will be out on DVD in December), a Photo Gallery with exclusive audio track White Diamond plus the video for 2 Hearts, Kylie's first single to come from the new album. The world is ready for new Kylie Minogue era! The goddess of pop is working on her 12th studio album, the follow-up to 2010′s “Aphrodite“, that’s scheduled for release later this year. This new album is her first under the production of Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation. It features works from producers such as Pharrell, Greg Kurstin, Metrophonic, Cutfather, MNEK and Ariel Rechtshaid.
The lead single was expected to be the song ”Get It Up Ya“, a collaboration with American rapper and stripper Brooke Candy. She’s known for appearing in Grime’s music video of her track “Genesis“, released in 2012. Finally, after an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, the singer explained that she had changed her mind. About the song, she said:
“We have the first single. All the people who listened to told me that it was undoubtedly a ‘Kylie song’. Let’s say it is a mix between that part avant-garde had ‘Slow’ or, at least, really different from the pop then this classic side found in the ‘Love at First Sight’ and its modern, contemporary, ‘[Can't] Get You Out of My Head’ … We pray for a new ‘Can’t Get’! … Yes, I think it is really a ‘Kylie song’ whatever the definition given to it. This song fits this range is mine. Because I am a performer, I do not like being locked into a single job“
The 45-year-old pop diva teased her new material by unveiling buzz single “Skirt” in May 2013. Australian singer recently collaborated on the song “Limpido” (“Limpio” in Spanish), included on the greatest hits compilation of the Italian singer Laura Pausini.
On New Year’s Day 2014, Minogue started a new hashtag, #intotheblue, indicating that this is the name of the new single. According to some fan pages of the artist, the new single “Into the Blue“ could be co-written by American songwriter and recording engineer Kelly Sheehan, head behind the hits like “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey (2008), “Like Me” by Girlicious (2008), or “How We Do (Party)” by RITA ORA (2012). To promote the new single, a tour was announced for May 2014, but will be postponed due to the participation of Kylie in the next seasons of the talent show The Voice, England and Australia.
The single goes to radio on Monday January 27 and it will be released on iTunes (UK) on March 16. Unfortunately the demo version of song surfaced online on January 19. It’s described as “a euphoric return to the dance floor“. About the song she said:
“2013 was a year of big change, planning and preparation for me and I’m so excited that 2014 is finally here so I can share this new music. ‘Into The Blue’ is really special to me as it encapsulates a lot of what I’ve been feeling – I can’t wait for it to be out there”
The singer filmed the music video of the new single on January 5, 2014 and it was directed by Dawn Shadford. The song is a wonderful piece of contemporary pop, excellent musical recipe where you can find the necessary ingredients to become an instant success. ‘Into the Blue’ has that unmistakable Kylie-touch. Soft and penetrating. Take the best of ‘Slow’ and ‘Love at First Sight’ and merges brilliantly with ‘Get Out of My Way’. It has a completely flawless pop structure from beginning to end. A magnificent chorus, and the song is melodically unbeatable. Without doubt, the single is all that Katy Perry would have wanted it to be ‘Unconditionally’. Be ready! Kylie is back, and the world explodes!

"Spinning Around" is a dance–pop song produced by Mike Spencer and written by Ira Shickman, Osborne Bingham, Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul. It was originally intended for Paula Abdul's "comeback" album. However, as the album never came into fruition, it was given to Australian singer Kylie Minogue for her seventh studio album Light Years in 2000. For Minogue, the song was a worldwide success, charting high in many countries, and, marking her return to the forefront of pop music.
Possibly the most eagerly awaited release of her career, "Spinning Around" achieved gold status in Australia prior to the album being released. The first single from her Light Years album, caused a sensation by propelling Minogue back to the top of the charts, debuting at No. 1 in both the UK and Australia. In the United Kingdom, "Spinning Around" has sold 245,000 copies, being certified Silver.
The song became Minogue's first number-one single in Australia since "Confide In Me" (1994) and her first in the UK since "Tears on My Pillow" ten years earlier. "Spinning Around" also gave Minogue the honor of being one of three artists (the others being Madonna and U2) to have a number-one in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. "Spinning Around" won Minogue Best Pop Release at the prestigious ARIA Awards in Australia and featured two previously unreleased tracks — "Paper Dolls" and "Cover Me with Kisses".
Due to the title of the song it has been used regularly in reference to politics, for example BBC Radio Five Live's coverage of the 2000 US presidential election and Andrew Marr's news report on Tony Blair's resignation speech.
