Mein Kampf, the autobiography of Adolf Hitler, provides a peek into the mind of a man who single-handedly managed to change the course of history, wounding the psyche of a people for generations to come and marring the memories of a race for all of time. This elegant hardbound edition comes with a gold-foiled cover, gilded edges, and beautiful endpapers. A historically relevant book that gives excellent insight into the maniacal ideologies and visions with which Hitler shook the world, Mein Kampf is an exploration of the Holocaust from the other side of the genocide, from Hitlers perspective. One of the most widely published, circulated, and read books in the world, Mein Kampf is at once a chilling, a revealing, and an intriguing foray into the inner mental mechanics of a man whose legacy continues to weigh down history even today.

Madman, tyrant, animal - history has given Adolf Hitler many names. In Mein Kampf (My Struggle), often called the Nazi bible, Hitler describes his life, frustrations, ideals, and dreams. Born to an impoverished couple in a small town in Austria, the young Adolf grew up with the fervent desire to become a painter. The death of his parents and outright rejection from art schools in Vienna forced him into underpaid work as a laborer. During the First World War, Hitler served in the infantry and was decorated for bravery. After the war, he became actively involved with socialist political groups and quickly rose to power, establishing himself as Chairman of the National Socialist German Worker's party. In 1924, Hitler led a coalition of nationalist groups in a bid to overthrow the Bavarian government in Munich. The infamous Munich "Beer-hall putsch" was unsuccessful, and Hitler was arrested. During the nine months he was in prison, an embittered and frustrated Hitler dictated a personal manifesto to his loyal follower Rudolph Hess. He vented his sentiments against communism and the Jewish people in this document, which was to become Mein Kampf, the controversial book that is seen as the blue-print for Hitler's political and military campaign. In Mein Kampf, Hitler describes his strategy for rebuilding Germany and conquering Europe. It is a glimpse into the mind of a man who destabilized world peace and pursued the genocide now known as the Holocaust. "... I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. In standing guard against the Jew I am defending the handiwork of the Lord".

Hitler's Table Talk 1941-1944 [图书] 豆瓣
作者: Adolf Hitler / Hugh Redwald Trevor-Roper 译者: Norman Cameron / R. H. Stevens 出版社: Enigma Books 2002 - 3
This is an intimate and in depth view of the private thoughts of a true genius, unfortunately one who used terrible, evil means to his ends. Every word Hitler spoke at meals with his "inner circle" was recorded from 1941 until 1944, when his world began to come apart. The material was gathered with comment by the preeminent English historian of the Third Reich, Sir Hugh Trevor-Roper. The Cameron - Stevens translation is quite readable and the foreward by Gerhard Weinberg helps put the material in perspective. This is an important book for anyone with an interest in the Second World War and its causes.
