Nightclubbing is the fifth studio album by Jamaican singer Grace Jones, released on 11 May 1981 by Island Records. Recorded at Compass Point Studios with producers Alex Sadkin and Island Records' president Chris Blackwell, as well as a team of session musicians rooted by rhythm section Sly & Robbie, the album marked her second foray into a new wave style that blends a variety of genres, including reggae, art pop, dub, synth-pop and funk. The album comprises a mixture of cover versions from artists including Bill Withers, Iggy Pop and Astor Piazzolla, and original songs, three of which were co-written by Jones.
The album received positive reviews upon its release, including being voted best album of the year by writers of the UK music magazine NME, and continues to be praised by critics, with reviewers commending the singer's unique sound and organic fusion of genres. The album entered in the top 10 in five countries, and became Jones' highest-ranking record on the US Billboard mainstream albums and R&B charts. Six singles were released from the album, including the hits "Pull Up to the Bumper" and "I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango)".
Critics and scholars have noted the album's influence on popular music, especially how its unique sound has been emulated by both pop and alternative acts, and how the persona Jones adopted – deeply influenced by art and fashion – has had an enduring influence in modern female pop singers. Around the time of the album's release, she adopted her characteristic androgynous look which would become popular in fashion. Nightclubbing is now widely considered Jones' best studio album[1] and the record that cemented her pop icon status.

Disco mix king Tom Moulton produced these tracks at Sigma Sound in Philadelphia using the same musicians Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff held hostage for their sessions. The results are quite different: though polished, these tracks don't jump out at you. It's really a producer's album. Moulton probably had these tracks completed long before he knew who was going to sing them. Give Grace Jones credit though, she gives credence to old fuddies like "Send in the Clowns," "La Vie en Rose" is lilting, and "I Need a Man," displays a vulnerable Jones.

Subtitled a biography in the liner notes, Slave to the Rhythm is a concept album, produced by ZTT Records founder and producer Trevor Horn, that went on to become one of Jones' most commercially successful albums and spawned her biggest hit, "Slave to the Rhythm".

Living My Life is an album by Grace Jones released in 1982. It was the last of a trilogy of albums that she recorded at the Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas in the early eighties. This time around, Jones wrote or co-wrote every track on the album except for one, "The Apple Stretching", which was originally written by Melvin Van Peebles and used in the Broadway show "Waltz of the Stork".
The album reached number #15 on the UK Album Chart in November, 1982.
The title track "Living My Life" was ultimately left off the album. It received a scarce 1983 release as a UK white label single and was only officially released in Portugal. Jones, however, performed the track in several TV shows and it was also included in her "A One Man Show".
Also the track "Man Around the House" (written by Jones and Barry Reynolds) was left off. Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" was at some point tried out as a demo but never completed as a finished recording. Both tracks eventually saw the light of day on the 1998 compilation "Private Life: The Compass Point Sessions".

The Ultimate Collection is a a 3 CD compilation by Grace Jones, released by Universal Music Netherlands in 2006. Remastered in a 32-bit sound.
The Ultimate Collection feautures newly remastered songs from her disco period (1976-1979), most noticeably the album version of her 1978 hit "Do or Die", which is available on compact disc for the first time in over a decade. The Ultimate Collection is not intended to be a singles collection, as several single releases are missing (most notably "On Your Knees", the only single from the album Muse).
The Ultimate Collection is more or less an expanded re-issue of Universal Music's The Grace Jones Story released the same year, with a few notable changes:
Disc one omits "That's The Trouble" but adds the aforementioned album version of "Do or Die", "All On A Summer's Night" as well as the original long versions of "Private Life", "Love Is The Drug" and "Warm Leatherette". Unfortunately Universal Music haven't corrected the faulty edit of Muse track "Saved" that also appeared on The Grace Jones Story, which means that the two first minutes of the song are again left out.
Disc two uses the album version of "Pull Up To The Bumper" instead of the 7" edit as well as the original long version of "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game". It adds "Inspiration", "Slave To The Rhythm" (sadly not the well-known single version but the album track that confusingly bears the same title) and "Victor Should Have Been A Jazz Musician", but omits "Someone To Love" and moves "She's Lost Control" and "Sex Drive" to disc three, which otherwise consists of alternate versions previously issued on 1998's Private Life: The Compass Point Sessions.
The Ultimate Collection, packaged in a double gatefold cardboard sleeve - although usually listed as a box set, was released by the Dutch label CCM, a subsidiary of Universal Music Holland. CCM has previously issued similar 3 CD Ultimate Collections by artists like Donna Summer, Barry White, Diana Ross, Kool & The Gang, Dusty Springfield and others.
