勒卡雷小说改编英剧《夜班经理》正在开发第2季，主演汤姆·希德勒斯顿、伊丽莎白·德比齐等都曾表示愿意回归，但这季到底拍不拍还没定。新季近日有了新进度：英国谍战小说家Charles Cumming(Thomas Kell、Alec Milius系列间谍小说)透露他是编剧之一，加入了此前曝出的第2季新请的编剧Matthew Orton(《终结行动》)。
第2季的剧本尤其重要，因为这季没有小说原作作为支撑了，勒卡雷的儿子Simon Cornwell曾表示：“还没有一个勒卡雷的故事是超越了小说去延展的，尝试做这个事情会很有趣。”Cumming最近则表示：“勒卡雷从未允许在没有原作的情况下拍电影电视续集，所以我们的工作是写出一季比第一季还好的故事，同时又忠于勒卡雷为角色们定下的这个世界的基调。”
该季预计共有4名编剧，目前新季还未被BBC和AMC正式开绿灯，信息非常保密。制作方The Ink Factory对此三缄其口，有消息源表示：“这是部间谍剧，所以一切要保密。”

本剧由Sky和HBO联合制作，Olivia Colman和David Thewlis主演。Colman老公Ed Sinclair负责剧本，福田知盛担任导演。
