最近在独立呐喊论坛上下载到了Thom Yorke在Bridge School Benefit Concerts 2002上演出的Bootleg专集。没错，是Thom Yorke，而不是Radiohead。整场演出都是Yorke用一把木琴自弹自唱，连鼓都没有用，可见功力深厚。Bridge School Benefit Concerts的背景我不是很了解，似乎是音乐节的性质。这张Bootleg的录音很好，据说是演出的录音师录下来准备自己在家听的，结果不小心流传了出来。

这张Bootleg是双张，分别记录了十月26和27两天的演出。第一天的开场曲是电子味道很浓的Everything in Its Right Place，在木琴的演绎下有另外一种风味。而I might be Wrong、Sail to the Moon和There There等歌和在法国酒馆的现场的木琴版相比，少了Jonny电吉他和钢琴配合，仍不显单调。值得一提的是第二天的收场曲Paranoid Android，这是我第一次听到这个歌的木琴版，原以为这首歌不是很适合木琴演出，不过Yorke赋予了这首歌新的感觉，少了原版纷杂的感觉，

The Eraser is a solo album by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. It was produced by Nigel Godrich and comprises of 9 songs written and played by Yorke. The album art was created by Stanley Donwood, who has worked with Radiohead since 1994.

A ‘one-reeler’ also entitled ANIMA will be available to watch exclusively via Netflix from 8am BST on June 27. The one-reeler, made by Paul Thomas Anderson, is set to three tracks from Thom’s new album.
ANIMA was written by Thom Yorke and produced by Nigel Godrich. The album features 9 tracks, with an extra track exclusively on vinyl. ANIMA will be available on CD, black double vinyl, limited edition orange double vinyl, and a deluxe 180g heavyweight orange double vinyl which includes a 40-page book of lyrics, and drawings done in pencil by Stanley Donwood and Dr Tchock.

The icy electroid dancehall rhythm of Thom Yorke's original ‘Not The News’ supplies wickedly chewy tackle for the remixers, prompting Equiknoxx’s Time Cow and Gavsborg to step up in killer style with a sort of 2.1-step dancehall take turning Thom’s vocals into childlike chatter, whereas the extended original sees the vocals trimmed back to poignant prongs and diffused into airy chorales.
Mark Pritchard meanwhile swaps the original drums out entirely for a sort of squashed, live-sounding nyabighi or talking drum sounds underlaid with massive subs to recalling Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhythm Force gone maudlin, while Clark brings up the rear with a weird glam rock swagger.
That Equiknoxx remix is worth the cost of entry alone!

Thom Yorke & Flea, Wynton Marsalis, and Daniel Pemberton are some of the musical heavyweights whose music is featured on the soundtrack to “Motherless Brooklyn” - the film directed, written by, produced by and starring Edward Norton. Featured on the album are two versions of the song “Daily Battles , each performed by musical icons of modern music. Thom Yorke ( who wrote the song) along with Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Atoms For Peace) performs a sparse and emotionally stunning version. The other version of “Daily Battles” was arranged and performed by jazz trumpet icon Wynton Marsalis, who, along with his hand-picked quintet of heavy-hitter-jazz-stalwarts delivers an instant jazz standard version of the song that conjures images of the 1950’s-era gin-soaked Harlem jazz club seen in the film. Additionally the album showcases new recordings of several jazz classics along with and songs created by in-demand composer Daniel Pemberton – all in that same smoky-jazz-club vibe - recorded by Marsalis and his ensemble specifically for the film.

Thom Yorke has announced a new album, Tomorrow's Modern Boxes. In a letter co-authored with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, he explained why the album is being distributed via torrent service BitTorrent.

As an experiment we are using a new version of BitTorrent to distribute a new Thom Yorke record.
The new Torrent files have a pay gate to access a bundle of files..
The files can be anything, but in this case is an 'album'.
It’s an experiment to see if the mechanics of the system are something that the general public can get its head around ...
If it works well it could be an effective way of handing some control of internet commerce back to people who are creating the work.
Enabling those people who make either music, video or any other kind of digital content to sell it themselves.
Bypassing the self elected gate-keepers.
If it works anyone can do this exactly as we have done.
The torrent mechanism does not require any server uploading or hosting costs or ‘cloud’ malarkey.
It's a self-contained embeddable shop front...
The network not only carries the traffic, it also hosts the file. The file is in the network.
