迷路荘（めいろうそう）に住んでいた男が殺された。金田一が華族の異様な人間関係と密室殺人のトリックに挑む。金田一耕助（古谷一行）は、知人の篠崎（三橋達也）から「ジケンアリ」という電報を受け取った。篠崎は、闇屋から財を築いた人物で、迷路荘と呼ばれる辰人元伯爵（仲谷昇）邸を買い取り、ホテルを開業しようとしていた。また篠崎の妻・倭文子（浜木綿子）も、元は辰人の妻だったという。金田一が迷路荘におもむいた時、そこには辰人と彼の叔父に当たる天坊元子爵（伊豆肇）がいた。金田一は、奇妙な人間関係に異様な感じを抱いていた。
