A remote village in Serbia in 1941. Through the fate of rural residents and the destiny of a partisan detachment reflected is the horror and absurdity of war in Serbia during World War II. On one hand, ordinary people and partisans; the Germans and the Chetniks on the other.

A disabled man takes on the system when his pension is tied up in a morass of red tape. He stops short, however, when he realizes that the sins of the fathers are not always passed down to the innocent children.

While heading to Spain to spend their honeymoon there, Siniša and Svetlana find themselves at Montenegrin coast due to mistake made by travel agency. They get back disappointed to Belgrade, where new problems expect them: Svetlana applied for an apartment, but divorced mothers with children are those who have advantage. Svetlana and Siniša decide to divorce for a part-time period so they could trick the housing board and get an apartment.

Though the problem of Marija's pregnancy may be solved, her relationship with Boba causes a rift between the Pavlović and Todorović families.

The title, translated to english, is "The march of Drina". This Yugoslav film is most notable for it's topic, handling of the same and circumstances.
The film was made during the communist era of Yugoslavia. Unlike 99% of war movies made during that time, this one doesn't deal with WW2 and communist revolution, but a historic and epic battle of WW1.
The topic was handled excellently, it was very authentic. For that reason, the film was "shunned" by the official TVs and movie theaters for years.
The topic of this film is the first battle of WW1 that was won by the allies, when small and outnumbered army of Serbian Kingdom defeated Austro-Hungarian invading forces. The plot revolves around a small artillery section, the men and their lives. The cast was excellent and they did their job superbly.
Historically, battles of Drina and Cer, in Serbia, were the first two victories in WW1. Unfortunately, overwhelmed by the invaders, serbian army had to retreat all the way to Greece and wait there until the allies were ready to open the front at Solun.
If you've seen Gallipoly, you should see this film as well. Mind you, this film is in serbian, so you should find a version for your country (preferably not synchronized).

This is a dark, surreal story of life and imminence of death,directed by the masterful hand of Zivko Nikolic. This is also a harsh political satire about absence of a clear vision and goal in the former Yugoslavia, expressed in the allegory of a floating island and its doomed inhabitants.Although made in 1977, its message is universal and can be applied to many contemporary events. A beautiful woman arrives on a god forsaken island and brings excitement and breath of fresh air in the lives of the locals. She awakes suppressed passion, hatred, love and fear,turning upside-down otherwise boring and monotonous island routine. The film is an intelligent and well crafted story about human soul, placed in an unidentified Adriatic island with Montenegrin schmeck.
