音乐剧《怪物史瑞克》(Shrek the Musical)，由梦工厂联合Neal Street Productions公司根据卖座动画片《怪物史瑞克》改编创作，于2008年12月14日在纽约百老汇首演。
根据作家威廉·史泰格(William Steig)的同名小说改编的动画片《怪物史瑞克》于2001年被搬上银幕，并一举获得第74届奥斯卡最佳动画长片奖，其后梦工厂于2004年、2007年和2010年推出三部续集，“绿色大块头”史瑞克成为梦工厂史上最具代表性也是最为卖座的动画人物，风靡全球。
将经典动画片搬上百老汇舞台由来已久，迪斯尼动画影业16年前成立了戏剧制作部门，并先后将《美女与野兽》、《狮子王》等热门片改编成了音乐剧。梦工厂也如法炮制，向迪斯尼叫板。《史瑞克》是梦工厂的第一部音乐剧，由三次托尼奖提名得主吉尼恩·特索利(Jeanine Tesori)作曲，普利策戏剧奖得主大卫·林赛·阿贝尔(David Lindsay-Abaire)作词、编剧。故事和动画片《怪物史瑞克1》一样，只不过这次在舞台上只能让真人演员来扮演。剧情讲述了外表丑陋、内心善良的怪物史瑞克与朋友经历了种种危险，英雄救美抱得美人归的故事，反映了友谊与爱情的真谛。
