千叶县立总北高中的新生小野田坂道（山下大辉 配音）是一个地地道道的动漫宅男，他身形瘦小，貌不惊人，动漫元素占据了他的脑瓜。无奈初中时代没遇到任何同好，好不容易升上高中，却发现梦寐以求的动画研究部因人数太少而废部。这个与周遭格格不入最喜欢蹬着自行车前往45公里外的宅男圣地秋叶原购买新出的游戏和手办，在人烟稀少的坡道上哼唱动漫主题歌是他无比惬意的时刻。偶然机缘，他结识了为打败宿敌御堂筋翔而艰苦训练的自行车竞技选手兼同级生今泉俊辅（鸟海浩辅 饰），其骑着淑女车轻松爬坡的样子令后者大为震惊。看似没有任何优点的小野田，以此为契机加入了高手云集的自行车竞技部，全新的青春之门为他打开……

In an underground world where tunnels extend everywhere, even though they live in dark and confined spaces, people wear protective clothes and lead quiet and enjoyable lives. Patema, a princess in her underground village, loves to explore the tunnels. Her favorite place is a "danger zone" that her village prohibits people from entering. The Four Cardinal Heroes are a group of ordinary men from modern-day Japan summoned to the kingdom of Melromarc to become its saviors. Melromarc is a country plagued by the Waves of Catastrophe that have repeatedly ravaged the land and brought disaster to its citizens for centuries. The four heroes are respectively bestowed a sword, spear, bow, and shield to vanquish these Waves. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, becomes cursed with the fate of being the "Shield Hero." Armed with only a measly shield, Naofumi is belittled and ridiculed by his fellow heroes and the kingdom's people due to his weak offensive capabilities and lackluster personality.

As the Waves approach the kingdom, Naofumi and Raphtalia must fight for the survival of the kingdom and protect the people of Melromarc from their ill-fated future.

《男子高中生的日常》以真田北男校为舞台，围绕着主角忠邦（入野自由 配音），以及他的死党秀则（杉田智和 配音）和吉竹（铃村健一 配音）的日常高中生活而展开。忠邦主要担任吐槽的角色，长相中性的他常常被秀则和吉竹联合欺负。登场人物还有同校学生会的元治、唐泽、副会长和会长等人，这是一群基本上没有女朋友的男校学生，在鲜有女生参与的情况下，展开了插科打诨的日常高中生活。
这是一部搞笑向的作品，内容短小，笑点十足。动画以每集一个小故事的节奏，采用“男子高中生与XX”的标题形式，将男子高中生的爆笑日常故事呈现给观众。
本作根据山内泰延的同名漫画《男子高中生的日常》改编而成。
