Es la historia, enclavada en el corazón de Madrid, de Mikel, Ana y Carlos, personas que buscan su lugar en el mundo, un lugar que cada vez se aleja más del idealizado, y la única solución es partir de lo real para empezar a construirlo. Gente a la que el destino ha terminado llevando por caminos inesperados. Ana trabaja para una ONG de ayuda a los refugiados. Carlos, un cubano exiliado que se gana la vida contrabandeando puros, fue piloto en Cuba y también el último amor de Ana, pero ahora ya sólo son amigos. Mikel acaba de salir de la cárcel y se obsesiona por restablecer su relación con un antiguo compañero de celda. Las vidas de Ana, Carlos y Mikel se irán relacionando cada vez más. Cada uno tendrá que enfrentarse a sus propios problemas y tomar sus propias decisiones, pero todos ellos se influirán y se ayudarán. Pasarán una mala temporada y lucharán por superarla.
