Monchhichi诞生的时候，以挂在脖子上的围兜颜色区分男女，黄色是男的名叫Monchhichi Kun，粉红色是女的名叫Monchhichi Chan；不过大家都会统称他们为Monchhichis。两年后，可替换衣服的Monchhichi开始发售，获得好评；Monchhichi的双生弟妹Maichichi在1977年面世，还推出可替换的鞋子和微型家具。并且在1979年的时候发售了唱片，1980年再创造爷爷、奶奶、父母等家庭成员，同年更播出首部电视动画片。
他俩都有一个习惯性的动作，那就是吮大拇指，不过在正式的场合，他们就把手指放下来，因为他们也是很懂礼貌的。和其他“动漫玩偶”组建家庭的方式一样，从小青梅竹马的两猴在“蒙奇奇•Kun”获得博士学位之后，于2004年也就是两人30岁时在日本的东京举行了婚礼。一年后，Monchhichi的龙凤胎儿女Bebichhichi诞生，依照日本送子鹤的民间传说，两兄妹Bebichhichi便是有传说中的专门运送新生婴儿到父母身边的送子鹤送来的。因此，Monchhichi没有怀孕就奇妙的诞生了一双精灵活泼的龙风胎，而且与父母亲同出一辙的可爱。虽然现在Monchhichis已经有儿有女，造型也变了，头顶有个红色蝴蝶结的是Monchhichi Chan。可是两只小猴子的性格则多年不变，还是那么温纯、淘气，Monchhichi Kun 爱撒娇，Monchhichi Chan 却很坚强；兴趣依然是Fashion，喜爱打扮；同样喜欢吃蛋糕和水果。
