An adaptation of the novel Venice is not in Italy by Ivan Calbérac, published by Flammarion in 2015: Emile is fifteen. He lives in Montargis, between a sweet-crazy father and a mother who has always dyed his hair blond, because, it seems, he is more beautiful like that. When the girl who pleases him more than anything invites him to Venice for the holidays, he is overjoyed. 阿蕾（玻缇拉·查伯特 Bertille Chabert 饰）的父母在她13岁那一年决定离婚，从此以后，阿蕾和八岁的弟弟马克西姆（Jean-Baptiste Fonck 饰）有了两个家，他们在爸爸家住一周，再去妈妈家住一周，如此往复。

亚历克斯（里夏尔·安科尼纳 Richard Anconina 饰）是一名音乐舞台剧导演，曾经创作过许多脍炙人口的剧本。然而近年来，他无法再写出能搬上舞台的剧本了，整个事业都陷入了低谷期，而他的妻子也在这个节骨眼选择了离开他。一晃眼数年过去，亚历克斯终于突破了瓶颈获得了新的灵感，然而制片人却不肯使用他的剧本，因为他已经彻底的退出了历史的舞台了。
亚历克斯并没有放弃，因为这部舞台剧是他挽回妻子的唯一希望，他找了一间旧仓库，决定在那里上演这部舞台剧。为了给舞台剧配乐，亚历克斯找到了音乐家马修（马克西姆·努齐 Maxim Nucci 饰）。
