Peace on Earth is the first holiday album by Kitaro and takes long time holiday favorites and orchestrates them with ethereal overtones, spiritual subtleties and bursts of theatrical effects. Also included is an original Christmas composition composed by Kitaro.

Created, composed and performed as the backdrop to the Broadway production, Cirque Ingenieux, Kitaro soundtrack is a moving auditory experience in the European Cirque tradition. Set at the turn of the century, ‘Cirque Ingenieux’ is a story of a girl who falls in love with a single ring circus. Returning to the empty tent later that night, she discovers a magical display of performance artistry told through visual musical effects.

Kitaro’s score ranges from lilting waltzes to haunting melodies piercing together evocative and moving elements of this grand scheme.

Gaia Onbashira is a musical exploration of respect and how it relates to ancient traditions. Gaia loosely translates to Goddess of the Earth or Mother Earth and Onbashira is a festival that occurs every seven years in Japan. During the Onbashira festival, eight individuals are chosen for spiritually cleansing. The participants ascend a mountain and attempt to spiritually connect with the heavens through the trees. These trees are then allowed to fall down the mountain and eventually become posts and the foundation of a ceremonial shrine. Through these events, these individuals learn to become more in touch with their spirits.

This album is a far-reaching journey that brings together influences of the East and West, past and present, history and future. These tracks resonate with earthly sounds and the history embodied in pre-Columbian wind and percussion instruments.

Assembling the very best from Kitaro’s latest works, the Best of Volume 2 features the Grammy-nominated single, ‘The Field’ which was co-produced by Mickey Hart.

In addition to featuring some of Kitaro’s signature works that include ‘Heaven and Earth’ and the ‘Theme from Silk Road’ it also contains selections from Mandala, Gaia Onbashira as well as Dream, Kitaro’s collaboration with Jon Anderson.

This two-disc set, featuring 19 unique compositions, is a wonderful glimpse into the great civilizations past. In An Ancient Journey, Kitaro takes his audience on a trek to worlds far away using traditional Middle Eastern and Chinese instrumentation. Listeners embark on a mysterious crusade, witnessing "the texture, life and spirit of the world's ancient people."

The title, which means ‘heavenly sky’, reflects the open air environment of Kitaro’s home studio. On the opening track, a child’s laughter is heard. The album’s theme concerns images and impressions of childhood.
