Set in Milan, where people's lives are invisibly lead by money in its different shapes: too much, too little, stolen, earned, visible and even impalpable. The money flows from one story to the next, from one person to the other, becoming the engine of the film.Everything moves around two antagonist characters: Ugo and Rita. Ugo is a banker involved in a not really clean business. Rita, the Finance Police officer, is a strong and obstinate woman in charge of capturing Ugo. Other characters wander around them, with their weaknesses and fragility, their goodness, their evil and their contradictions. Characters meet, clash, love and hate each other, their lust for money becomes intense feelings.

Lucio (Edoardo Pesce), conduttore di una nota trasmissione radiofonica, spigliato, brillante e dalle idee progressiste, è sposato con la bella Elena (Valentina Lodovini), insicura ed emotivamente dipendente del marito. I due hanno un’armoniosa famiglia allargata (che include la prima moglie ed una figlia di Lucio) ed un unico figlio: Blu (Daniele Scardini), 9 anni, che adora vestirsi da femmina, ed è libero di farlo, col permesso di mamma e papà, solo quando è a casa. In occasione della recita scolastica, però, il bambino vuole a tutti i costi indossare il costume della Sirenetta: i suoi genitori, divisi tra il desiderio di assecondarlo e quello di proteggerlo, saranno i primi a dover riconsiderare la loro apertura mentale e a intraprendere un percorso di consapevolezza e accettazione, in cui saranno accompagnati da un gruppo eterogeneo di coppie di “Genitori Unicorni”, guidato da un’accogliente psicologa (Michela Andreozzi).

Un gruppo di pazienti affetti da disturbo ossessivo compulsivo riceve per errore appuntamento alla stessa ora nello studio di un luminare della psicoterapia e si ritrova, così, a condividere la stessa stanza in attesa dell’arrivo del dottore che però, di ritorno da un convegno a Berlino, è molto in ritardo. Man mano che ciascuno di loro fa ingresso nello studio, si delineano i disturbi da cui sono affetti e che rendono complicata la loro vita sociale e affettiva; imparare a controllare i sintomi è per tutti una questione molto complessa. Costretti a fare gruppo, i pazienti dovranno riuscire non solo a confrontarsi con i propri traumi personali, ma anche ad andare d’accordo e instaurare un rapporto di reciproca fiducia, dando vita ad una esilarante terapia di gruppo autogestita.

There is no good day to announce a split – especially not one that was planned as an anniversary celebration. But Lucia doesn’t want to give up on her husband Giovanni. In her spontaneous struggle for her husband’s heart, she involves not only friends but also a filmmaker named Eros, who films the diverging couple’s every moment with his partner. What was originally intended to be a documentary about freelance filmmakers becomes a testament to the everyday problems in the relationships of big-city couples. And in the same way that no decision in a relationship can ever be considered final, dividing the protagonists into villains and heroes would be short-sighted. This film, which examines all the different kinds of love and its unpredictability in particular – with Billie Holiday’s sad “Good Morning Heartache” strewn throughout – represents the young blood of Italian cinema. Despite the attractive moviemaking milieu, the film is not cast in the resplendent light we know from gossip columns.
