The last shot of this movie has this strange combination of sadness and hope. It's the past that is hard to let go of colliding with the future that is scary to face. And yet the past is also traumatic, while the future can bring much needed positive change. It's in this bittersweet contradiction there's the tragic nature of life: of growing up and looking back at your younger self. It's when you make mistakes but then get attached to the broken life that these mistakes have led to. Because as broken as it may be, every crack on it is yours. Love is complicated.
