I'm probably the wrong person to say anything about this game, as this is the only theme park tycoon game I've ever played. It seems pretty good, but I just have no interest in the whole park management aspect of it. My favorite thing here is crossbreeding dinosaurs and seeing what kinda strange results I'll get. That aspect is pretty deep because you can crossbreed any dinosaur with any other and there are tweaks you can make to get different results. The amount of dinosaurs you can create is insane. Unfortunately there's no true sandbox mode where you can set a high or infinite amount of money, so you're forced to think about the business of it, build restaurants and other shit to keep the visitors happy.

I originally dropped this because of the controls, but this time I was playing on the Vita, so I was able to bind movement to the left stick and aiming to the right. Once I stopped struggling with the controls, I realized just how slow and clunky the movement is and how unengaging the shooting is. There are visual similarities to Panzer Dragoon, but Panzer Dragoon is a much more mobile game where enemies come at you in various patterns you constantly have to adapt to and quickly react to. That's not the case here.

@BananaSundae yeah, but I think it's still fair to compare them because until the release of Max Payne 3, there were only two Max Payne clones I'm aware of, this and El Matador, and Stranglehold was pretty much seen as a spiritual successor by many. Especially since it's made with John Woo's involvement and based on one of his movies. You couldn't get a better stamp of credibility. It's like when the original Diablo devs called Path of Exile the successor of Diablo. And tbf even by now there are very few games that scratch that Max Payne itch. Afroementioned Sleeping Dogs at times feels like softcore Max Payne, and I guess something similar can be said about the Matrix games (Path of Neo even has a level directly inspired by Hard Boiled), Remedy's own effort (Quantum Break) was even worse and more softcore than any aforementioned titles. And I think there's one indie game, El Paso something, which looks so ugly I don't even wanna bother, oh and there's consolified games where you don't even need to aim, like Total Overdose and Dead to Rights, which in my opinion defeat the whole point of them being shooters. Stranglehold is actually probably the best direct Max Payne clone that exists, so Max Payne 3 is the only game it's even worth comparing to.
