You have many ways to build an obscenely rich and powerful nation. If oppressing your people by furious button smashing is your thing, master the clicker features to your benefit. Advancing in technology tree will unlock upgrades, military units, bonuses and new abilities to help you grow and steel yourself for threats to come.



Face hundreds of disasters, wars, diseases, social unrests, invasions and independence declarations that threaten your people. Sometimes you will get beaten, descend into dark ages, famine or ideological mayhem. But have no fear, losing is impossible. In fact, the harder the struggle, the more likely a grand hero emerges from the ashes.



Every crisis you overcome gives you a chance to gain a hero . For your micro-civilization heroes act as inventory items which boost your power. Though you can only have a handful of them equipped at any time, collecting heroes opens endless new effects on your industry, wealth, strength and stability. As you move forward, you will collect higher tiers of heroes, merge them with recipes and form sets to gain absurd powers.



Disasters in this game are no mere random number generator roll. You are in full control of all disaster risks. In fact you know the chance of them happening at any given time so you have chance to mitigate. Uninhabited houses? Chance of fire. Too many people crammed in tight space? Small-pox will probably visit you soon.



Whether by bad luck, or your risk neglection, when a crisis occurs it can be overcome by combat . Fire can be extinguished, disease can be withstood or cured, invasion can be repelled. Regardless of what the problem is, it is always a number of brave micro-people willing to give their lives, who defeat the crisis. In every fight, People are your life , Economy is your strength and Heroes are your weapons . Combine these with workshop abilities and master the combat to become a force to be reckoned with.



History has too many stories to tell in one go. In order to reach the metaphorical stars, you will need to trace back to ancient ages several times, each with a higher purpose. Your Ascension tree contains many challenges organized into Difficulty Tiers each brining new features into the game, more difficult enemies but also access to more powerful heroes, world wonders and ability modifications.

One of my earliest Sega games and upon revisit one of the worst I've ever played. The movement is probably the floatiest I've ever seen, it's impossible to stop when you want to. There's a massive delay input and your default attack hits below the first flying enemies unless you perform it two more times in a row. So not only is it hard to time it because of the delay, but you also have to time three attacks instead of one. I can't make it past even the first few enemies.

The choice of 8-bit graphics makes a lot of sense for indie devs, but I really don't understand the conscious decision to revert to Castlevania 2's controls and movement, when modern engines can do so much better out of the box. The inclusion of more modern moves then, like the slide, feels very anachronistic and jarring. Once you discover the slide, you never wanna walk again because of just how slow your character is in comparison. I think from Castlevania 4 onwards it's been pretty much universally agreed that the movement has improved and the combat has grown more varied and nuanced.

A lot of these Castlevania clones coming out these days feel like remixes of the old games. Just taking features from various games and mixing them together, instead of introducing anything new. I would rather just play Castlevania 2 for the retro experience or play a more modern one for the modern features.

This was part of a deal Nintendo had with EA Sports to have Nintendo's intellectual properties appear in EA franchises.

I know the SSX series is worshipped, and, growing up, I always wanted to play these games, but they were console exclusives, and by the time I managed to get a PS2 and a PSP, I kinda lost interest. Still I felt a sort of obligation to play it to appease my childhood self. And I gotta say, this doesn't really impress me. I mean, gameplay-wise this just feels like THPS, and the presentation is kinda what you'd expect from a snowboarding game. It's alright.

I couldn't figure out how to do those challenges where you're supposed to just earn points by jumping back and forth doing tricks. And I didn't feel like looking this up.

I think I might revisit the SSX series some day, but in that case I'll probably go with a different entry. I have a feeling that this little PSP spin-off might not be the best representation of the series.

What is the point of a Mass Effect game? I always thought it was role-playing with the emphasis on the story. Sure, they all have combat systems, but those always felt secondary, as they were never anything more than a generic cover shooter. But Infiltrator is simply a generic cover shooter, and not even a good one.

The controls are clunky, the AI is braindead, the level design is linear. There's a tacked-on ranking system that has no reason to be here. You can't even point-shoot.

The graphics are technically impressive, but aesthetically sterile. The game looks almost like a Unity asset flip.

Honestly, the only reason I'm giving it 1.5 stars is because it's a mobile game, so I'm cutting it some slack. But there's really no reason to play this.

After .kkrieger this is just not impressive. It does play better though, but as a game it's basically just a simple Quake clone. The fact that it's tiny in this case is more of a gimmick. .kkrieger was much more of a unique experience than this.

Minimalist to the point of lacking some of the most fundamental basic mechanics. There's barely any base-building here, only one resource to manage, no unit panel and virtually no settings. The AI and pathfinding are terrible. The only thing I liked was that soldiers can get knocked back and fall down, and then get up and continue fighting. Also, the visuals overall seem pretty polished. The game goes for a very Warcraft-like cartoony style, which I don't think is very appropriate here, but it does look nice.

Very vague memories of this one. I did not expect it to be a basically JRPG. I fucking hate random encounters, worst game "mechanic" of all time. Absolutely ruined it for me.

I liked the music though.

I think in games like this there needs to be a captivating story or an atmosphere, something to pull the player in and give them the motivation to keep going. Because the gameplay itself consists of just searching locations to find an item that'll help you unlock a door, ad nauseam. Which is fun at first, but starts to get really old when you get stuck. And I'm not sure whether the story does get better, but in the first 40-ish minutes it's almost non-existent. By which point you ought to start asking yourself: "wtf am i even doing?"

A low-budget Metroid clone with worse graphics and worse music. Features probably the most unintuitive mini-map I've seen in the genre. And the combat is boring af, with very annoying enemies, whose attacks are often nigh-impossible to avoid. I made it to the first boss, who spawned these little bugs or something that were constantly sliding across the floor and hitting me. You gotta crouch just to shoot them, and they're very fast, and you're in a small room with no place to dodge, and you can't jump from the crouching position, so you just keep getting hit. And you only have 4 health-points. I suspect the devs knew how hard the game is because on each death you just resurrect in the same room with full health.

This isn't the worst game I've ever played, but I really didn't feel like investing more time into it to find out whether it gets better. I was not enjoying the game from the very first minutes.
