When you're making a movie about another culture, it should be approached with the utmost respect for the said culture. This movie is not only historically inaccurate, but also barely features any Mongols in it, wether as actors or as the crew. Which is really weird for a movie called Mongol. Even the Chinese productions include Mongolian cast and crew. This movie, on the other hand, feels very orientalist, exaggerating the "exotic" to a Russian viewer cultural elements, and rewriting history to fit that vision.
